Bio

김미정 교수는 연세대학교를 졸업하고 동 대학원에서 석사학위, University of Sydney 건축대학에서 박사학위를 받았다. UC Berkeley에서 박사후 연구원으로 근무했으며 2008년 경희대학교 교수로 시작하여 2019년부터 한양대학교 건축학부 교수로 재직 중이다. 주요 연구분야는 sensing architecture, HBI (Human Building Interaction), 가상현실과 증강현실, 창의성을 위한 디자인 교육, 건강 스마트 주거, 스마트 도시와 커뮤니티, 디자인과 환경 관련 인지연구 등 건축분야를 중심으로 한 융합 연구이며, 동 분야에서 다수의 국제논문 및 국제저서를 출판하였으며 국제저널의 게스트 에디터와 편집위원으로 참여하는 등 활발한 연구활동을 하고 있다. Google Scholar 디자인 컴퓨팅 분야에서 세계적으로 Top 4 연구자로 랭크되어 있으며, 2026년 1월에 한국공학학림원 회원으로 선정되었다.

Mi Jeong Kim is a professor of the School of Architecture at Hanyang University in Korea. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Yonsei University, and her Ph.D. in the Key Centre of Design Computing and Cognition at the University of Sydney. She worked as a postdoc fellow in the Department of Engineering Research Support Organization at UC Berkeley before joining Kyung Hee University. Her current research interests include convergence issues such as sensing architecture, Human-Building Interaction (HBI), virtual reality (VR) & augmented reality (AR) for spatial design, design education & strategies for creativity, health smart home, smart city & communities, and cognitive studies related to design & environment. She has published many international papers and books in the field and has served as a guest editor and a member of the editorial boards of well-known international journals. She is ranked in the world's top 4 in Design Computing on Google Scholar and was selected as a member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea in 2026.
